"Your donation doesn't just change one life - it has this amazing ripple effect"- Phil

Your generosity is transforming lives.

Your support helps Kiwis who are blind, deafblind or have low vision access the resources, training and guidance they need to live independently. Every three hours, someone in New Zealand develops vision loss. Thanks to your kindness, we can provide support and hope when it matters most.

You're providing more life-changing technology.

Your support provides the technology and training that connects and empowers – transforming daily life. We help people access and master screen readers, accessible apps and voice assistants like Alexa. Last year alone, 2,096 Kiwis gained these essential digital skills, all thanks to compassionate people like you.

You're opening the door to learning and more.

Comprehensive technology and training create confidence and independence. Tactile Sign language instructors and Braille tutors enable connection. This support opens doors to education and possibilities for people of all ages. Thanks to your support, Phil now studies Psychology at University – giving his life purpose. Our accessible library also now contains over 36,000 books, giving Kiwis the freedom to learn and experience the joy of reading.

You're giving people like Phil the skills to thrive at work.

In 2024, 248 people completed Blind Low Vision employment and youth transition programmes – building careers and giving their lives meaning. Thanks to your support, Phil is now a non-profit board member, passionately advocating to make Aotearoa more accessible. Together, we can help create more inclusive workplaces for people who are blind, deafblind or have low vision.

You're helping Kiwis navigate the world with confidence.

Your support provides Mobility and Independence training that helps people move confidently and manage daily tasks autonomously. This includes white-cane training and practical independence skills – like sensing when the jug has boiled or when the washing machine has finished through vibrations. Your kindness also funds our guide dog programme, with 154 working dogs currently transforming lives across New Zealand. Thanks to you, more people can attend appointments, travel safely and live on their own terms.

You're enabling access to healthcare and more.

Your donations help people access healthcare systems and essential services that weren't designed with their needs in mind. Blind Low Vision NZ provides training and support to give people the confidence to manage appointments, communicate effectively with healthcare providers and advocate for themselves when accessing life's everyday necessities.

"Blind Low Vision NZ lowered a ladder into the dark hole I was in. They helped me find the rungs, placed my hands and feet on the rungs, and taught me how to climb. I rediscovered who I was - a person of value. I've been given independence, purpose and direction." -Phil
