Hi, this is Martin Murray!
Three years ago I was blinded and one year ago I got a Guide Dog called Harley. Now, I would like to help someone else on their journey to get a Guide Dog.

I intend to run the Auckland Marathon to raise money for Blind Low Vision NZ Guide Dogs. My guide dog will not be running the Marathon with me!
I am getting support from Achilles Running Club and Pakarunga Athletic Club to help me get over the line!

Marathon 2024 Complete

Thursday 7th Nov
Hello everyone, 
Jacques and I completed the marathon in a time of 4hrs 27mins. It was a bit slower than what we had hoped for but we were both very happy to get over the line! 
My thanks to everyone who cheered us along the route and to those who left messages of support.  We needed that encouragement!
Finally a big thank you to those who have contributed to this worthwhile cause, the total raised will buy a lot of dog bowls! 


Marathon 2024 Update

Sunday 13th Oct
Hello everybody, 
I would just like to thank everyone for their overwhelming generosity. The level of support has been incredible! 
The training is going well, we've completed our longest run of 36km and the taper has begun. Three weeks to go before the big day and all is tracking well. 

I would like to thank my guide, Jacques; he has been coming to the house five times a week and his commitment to the training schedule has been quite extraordinary. 

I appreciate the best wishes and messages of support, and of course Guide Dogs NZ will benefit by your kindness.
