"Blind Low Vision NZ is important because it's there to help people like me, see the world in a different way." - Asha
1,660 children supported by Blind Low Vision NZ.
Your compassion helps children who are blind or have low vision gain the confidence they need to learn, grow and chase their dreams. Behind each number is a child with dreams, goals and potential. Every three hours, someone in New Zealand loses their sight. Thanks to your kindness, we can provide support when families need it most.
You're helping families find hope.
Your support provides expert guidance to help families navigate the health system, manage medical care and find hope when they need it most. Asha was born with congenital cataracts and became Blind Low Vision NZ's youngest member at just 11 weeks old. Your compassion provided hope in their darkest moment. “We were assigned a lovely human called Alana, and when she arrived, I cried with her a lot.”
2,096 people gained vital technology skills.
Your support provides the technology training that opens doors to education and employment. Asha uses a tablet, a laptop and a digital magnifier to help with her school studies. From screenreaders to accessible apps, your donations ensure children have the right tech to succeed at school.
248 young people completed Youth and Employment programmes.
Your support helps young people pursue their passions and build successful careers. Children like Asha, who dreams of becoming an animator and voice actor when she’s older. Asha also works at a puppy training school every Tuesday night. "I train dogs for a living!” she exclaims, showing that with the right support, every child can have a bright future filled with fun, adventure and endless possibilities.
